Like Danny said, 192kb (cbr) is a good compromise and after all you've got to remember that a lot of us are still on dial up. ( I'm going BB next year!) Just make sure you use a quality encoder (not itunes!) and downconvert from the highest possible bitrate. ie: If you record 24b/44.1k , mix and master at that rate then convert to mp3.
