Not good news Phil,...and not what I want to hear
but it was was a timely bit of bad news. I have also ordered my
AT3032's and have/HAD? plans to use one of those 302's which according
to the website exibits the same problem....and what do I read from SD?
So what does this mean....they recommend any/all of the following
remedies:
Message: 1.
Subject: engage the high pass filter....which may then further compromise
recording quality. I would appreciate being able to use these filters
for extraneous noise related problems....not to remedy a fault with
the machine.
2 Use 48v phantom at all times....just what you need to hear when you
want to save battery power. And what if you have mics that don't take 48v?
Message: 3.
Subject: Power the mic's from an external phantom supply...well thats what
I'm buying the 302 for in the first place.
Message: 4.
Subject: Power the mixer from an external DC power supply....just great when
yer miles from now where.
none of these are gonna help me. Anyone know whats really going on
hear in laymans terms. Mic's or mixer problem? This is not something I
like to read about from a top of the line brand. If the problems as
bad as it sounds(pun intended) I mose well jus put up with the noise
in my korg recorder and forget the 302.
I supose I should say cheers .....clint (feeling a little low)
Ps: it was interesting reading what SD describe as the cause.
