About Bay Area Sound Ecology and BASEbot
BASE is a chapter of the the American Society for Acoustic
Ecology forming now. It is envisioned as a forum for everyone
interested in discussing and sharing an appreciation for sound
and the soundscape: as an interdisciplinary group centered
around listening and sound-environment awareness. Your
membership is encouraged.

BASEbot will meet as a regular forum for BASE, and as a
listening salon for BASE members and the interested public.
Each meeting will feature a main speaker or two on relevant
topics; an opportunity to converse casually over snacks; an
open floor for announcement; and a listening salon.
About Chris Watson
Chris Watson is one of the best-known field recordists in the
world. His work is an evolving interplay between field recording
of the very highest technical caliber, and sound art composition
(with those recordings) of the most nuanced and subtle nature.
