I'd be happy enough to try it without looking at the literature. Thanks to DJs, phono preamps are available as cheap as $50... however, you don't want the built-in RIAA equalization. A magnetic phono cartridge isn't that different from a dynamic mic...low level output. Unfortunately, except for the expensive "moving magnet" type, they typically have a high output impedance (47K). Try patching one channel or L+R (just parallel) into a passive (transformer) guitar "direct box" and thence to a mic preamp. They're XY stereo! -Dan Dugan |
