Hi--
As Danny suggests, first try your condenser mic(s) on the supplied
MT's phantom power using the  1/4" TRS mic jacks. Might need to make
up some cables.  If the phantom powering is inadequate, you can use a
portable phantom power supply. Art and Rolls make good units (Phantom
II and PB224) in the $50 to $80 range that are compatible with your
MT.  Regarding the MT's mic pre noise/gain performance, you can
compare it to several other recorders here:
http://www.uwm.edu/~type/audio-art-tech-gallery/ Its the first test
in row 2. I use large studio condenser mics in the field regularly.
