Natalie, You can use bunge cords, velcro, rubberbands and many other things to secure the Ziplock or other plastic against the wind. The only downside is that they may make noise in the wind. The main thing that I like about the bags is that they are light weight are available almost anywhere and can be rolled up and easily stashed. Also you might consider a small alpine sytle tent anchored by ropes and stakes as an enclosure with ends open directed at sound source.
