Neal Ewers has posted a podcast describing the Zoom H2 in some detail.
Neal is head of an audio recording and post-production company. Neal
is an accomplished vocalist who publishes his works on CD through his
website, www.ravenswood.org. Neal also has produced a series of
nature sound CDs. All this is by way of saying that Neal knows
something about audio recording equipment and how to use it.
Neal is an affiliate of the Trace Research and Development Center at
the School of Engineering, on the Madison campus of the University of
Wisconsin. (Perhaps Rob D. or others who participate here have met
Neal.) The Trace Center's focus is to make technology available to
those with physical challenges. Some of Neal's comments are made with
this perspective in mind. Neal has been blind since birth.

Neal's conclusion is that the Zoom H2 "is not a professional piece of
equipment, but it comes very close to being [so] in a lot of areas."
Bottom line: Neal is keeping the H2 he got for review.
Neal plans to make future podcasts as he learns more about the H2's
technical capabilities. Neal invites listeners to write to him to ask
questions about the H2. Contact Neal at this address (read it out
