The FR2-le is miles ahead of any minidisc. All of the complaints about past flash recorders have been answered with this recorder. I got one the first week it was out and have since used it for 6 weeks in Monteverde Costa Rica and for three weeks in Peru. The Battery option is a must have giving long record times. CF will also give you long record time options with up to 16 GB cards. The Fostex has XLR inputs with good phantom power. Oh yeah its a tank. Mine is already scratched up but working great.
