After a happy summer of traveling hither and yon with my new Telinga stereo microphone, I am wondering how much rough handling it can take. It has held up beautifully through plenty of rides in my carry-on, and some misty morning recordings, but of course I want to extend its useful life as much as possible. Don't drop it, don't submerge it--that much I know, but what are other tips for the care and feeding of mics, especially with the added rigor of waving it around outside? Will the gentle bumps of regular handling add up over time for any microphone? I love this one dearly, it's my only microphone, and I want it to last. Alexia Stevens Woodinville, Washington |
