Not to dissent or anything...but just to say, I use a small, cheap
tripod.  The kind you can get for 10-20 dollars.  I lost a bolt on it
once, but just replaced it at the hardware store.  It's super light
and the most important part is that it folds up tiny.  I can put it
inside a backpack or in a carry on suitcase.  That's the reason I like it.

I've never had a problem with it not being sturdy enough.
