    Depends on one's skill level. I know people who can differentiate 
the "chip" calls, and I can do my locals, to a degree. No doubt there is 
someone out there who can bird hummers by ear. Check Sibley for 
descriptions of ABA hummers. The Broad-tailed produces a distinctive 
note with its wings in flight, which I have heard.
