<<Don't know if this will help, but a musician just told me about some in ear monitors (IEMs) that have built in microphones that can be switched in or out from the beltpack... Might be worth investigating! The intent is for stage performers to use in ear monitors and still get realistic live sound controllable at will.>> I've demoed these. They work quite well & definitely overcome the extreme sense of isolation which attends IEMs. They are a very expensive add-on to an already expensive ear monitor.
