Your problem is that few support metadata on audio CD's. Sony was the
only one that I know of that had any support for this in their players,
though it's been a while since I looked into it. Roxio's Toast and Jam
will write CD Text to the disc, they are mac only, however. Your problem
is most players won't read it. I kind of gave up on it for that reason.

I should probably burn a CD with text and try it on iTunes, I've not
done that. On the other hand I have some commercial CDs that have CD
Text on them (Sony produced) and iTunes did not read the text on them.

It's a work around, but for people's iPods you could encode them and
name them and supply those files. MP3 or the new MPEG4 versions work.

Note that on the newer video iPod I have you can associate a different
"album cover" with each track, so you could have a photo of the caller
with each track on the iPod. That's my next iPod task, ID calls with
photos. I've done that before on my Palm Tungsten C, and it's very handy
when trying to describe something to somebody. I'll bet there is a
market for such photo and call sets for iPods.
