Off-topic, but I am curious which application QuickTime is interfering with on your platform and how/when the problem crops up. Some recordists might enjoy the same ease and power that students enjoy. QT Pro also provides a number of web-support feats that, to the best of my knowledge, the pro audio and video apps aren't configured to do.
