No problem using multiple filters for a shotgun. I would probably sew
them with metal picture hanging wire but silicon rubber adhesive would
probably work fine too.  For a shotgun I would be inclined to use a
strainer on each end and use rubber bands for the shock mount instead
of the foam.  This is because with a long mic you likely will want two
mounts to the mic.
