Yes, I always move them to my external firewire first.
I also noticed another interesting wrinkle. When importing a file it
gives you the option of "add" or "copy"
When I just hit "add" (I used to be able to do this) that is when I
encounter the problem, but when I press "copy" it works fine which
leaves me to believe that it is a metadata problem. when pro-tools
copies the file it is probably stripping code from the file it
doesn't need, but I am just guessing.
I am going to call Sound Devices tomorrow morning, but I was
wondering if anyone had any other thoughts.
