What you need is "Stereo Tools" a VST plug-in that works great and its free

I suggest you audition (pun intended) your files in the multirack page via =
a
bus with Stereo_Tools inserted

RE Steve Pelikan
"I recall reading somewhere (perhaps this news group?) that experts find
that doing this transformation digitally isn't as good as doing it in
hardware. Is this that right? Messenger & more."

No way quite the reverse I have used MS for years hardware, especially the=

expensive kind, can work great but this is a natural for digital
manipulation. Eg not a big deal in practice much of the time, but one of th=
e
potential advantages of MS is that it is the most mono compatible system
ever (potentially) Mono has no width {Duh} the Fig 8 is responsible for
width; if MS is decoded properly (easy with digits) then there with be
EXACTLY the same info sent to both the L&R but in antiphase, so when they
are summed if listening in mono all contributions from the Fig8 will go.
Even the best analog circuit is challenged to keep the highest audio
frequencies totally phase coherent & within a fraction of a dB of each
other.
