I sometimes record in MS because my mikes are set up that way, and save the files as wavs putting M channel on the L track and S channel on the R track. Most of my field recordings are dead space or junked by aircraft etc, so I qualify them on getting back and toss the rubbish. Trouble is when I play the MS files I can't make any sense of the stereo without decoding. I can do that in Audition, but it takes time. What I'd like to be able to do is play them, and have a plugin on the PC do the decoding on the fly, so I don't have to decode the files. Anybody know of a way to do that, either as a plugin for something like foobar2000 or a lightweight app? |
