On 8 March, a fellow posted a note to the Neotropical Ornithology discussion list to ask for opinions about the Edirol R-09 recorder. In a few hours, four others posted notes saying the 3.5mm microphone input jack had failed on their R-09 units. So buyer beware of this problem. The R-09 sounds like it is not sturdy enough to stand up to field use. The issue and possible ways to protect the mic input were discussed here recently. See group message #26581 and following. --oryoki |
