Bernie you Dog!!

I have just ordered the ARES-PII+ from Dan (Dugan) as a portable back-up for
my 722 & 744. I was taking the pmd-660 with modified pre-amps but I found
the battery life was not what I wanted in the field. The PMD-660 costs about
$500-600 with the modified pre-amps and the Ares (yet to be tested with this
group?) is about $2900 with the cables and mic.

I'm just south of you this weekend in San Diego, guess what? It's bloody
raining!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyone know of a good CF recorder that is strictly compact flash
in-series and can also supply 48V phantom power for mics?
