Many low voltage DC powered devices use a DC-DC power converter I believe. Figure out a way to secure / add strain-relief for the type "A" connector to the body of the recorder. Its my opinion that inadequate or disrupted powering is behind 95% of the incomplete disk writing occurrences with Hi-MD.
