i am new on this list (i'm from sweden too), i don't have these
postings, but the problems with *a whining sound* are solved with a
system software update (version 1.10). it fixes a problem with the
encoder software that could cause excessive modulation noise when
recording mp3s using 256 or vbr. my *upgrade history*: sharp md -
edirol r-1 - zoom h4. i don't agree that h4 is a *joke*. name one
immaculate recording equipment that is handy, sturdy and fast, takes
every microphone(s) (including phantom-powered) on the market and
transfers to whatever computer platform smoothly with no degradation,
and not pricey, and will buy that gagdet.
