Yes it's a volatile subject with heightened emotions all over the
place.  It only makes sense that 'reports' of the IBW would make
'sightings' more numerous as people 'want' to see it.  That said, I am
no IBW expert...my hunch is that it is around in tiny numbers...the
label of 'extinct' is not an absolute but a short gradient with the
final outcome being actual extinction.  I hope the IBW is out
there...of course, I have no idea.  It makes no sense to go nuts until
there's clear proof.

Rip, good luck though...a clear IBW recording on DSM mics will be
quite a catch!  If I am in Florida at my relatives' house this fall
I'll try to drive over for a couple of days to join you if I can.
