There's an update of firmware from 1.02 to 1.03 on the Edirol web site. The link is: http://tinyurl.com/kj5ad Leonard at Sonic Studios is preparing a review of the R-09. He describes the R-09's preamps as "adequately quiet." You can read his work in progress at www.sonicstudios.com/r-09revw.htm As Rob D. suggests, the Taperssection.com site has a wealth of information. The "Recording Gear" section has more than 600 posts about the R-09. In general, owners are pleased with the small size, easy-to-use controls, low price, and lack of software bugs in the R-09. Recordings of loud music concerts (the primary interest of the Tapers Section members) sound good. The following information was gleaned from Tapers Section sources. |
