thanks, Tom!

i actually dream of a birding bicycle that has quick binoc access, quiet ri=
de, bins for carrying, hybrid style, knobbed tires.

audio taping while bicycling? excellent idea with the right equipment.

the big advantage of biking is the quiet in which you enter or glide into t=
he nature environment versus foot falls and catching the game less aware, a=
nd you can hit several taping environemnts in a short amount of time.

i guess you would get more alarm calls but scenes can quiet down quickly.

c& o canal here in maryland as example

Once again, i like my dsm ambient headphone mics because of their overall =
qualtity, ruggedness, windscreen, lightness. not that they are best in play=
back though.

i've biked up on elk herds, rattlesnakes and a canadian lynx in washington =
state.

wonder if any member of this group has tried recording whilst
bicycling? > I assume some form of cardioid mic is needed to suppress the n=
oises of the bicycle and the rider.

I tried just that, with a Marantz ECM8 single point stereo mic,
suspended in crossed rubber bands inside a peanut feeder with a sock
over it. Heck, I'm not subjecting my Sennehisers to the vibration of a
bike :)

It was a dismal failure.
