This is an excellent method for recording surround, and it can be used to simulate the horizontal part of the output of a Soundfield microphone. My colleague Thomas Chen and I wrote two papers on this subject, and I'd be happy to send copies to anyone who is interested in using these techniques to record surround. It's lamentable that there aren't more choices for Figure of Eight microphones. Eric Benjamin |
