Hi all,

I wanted to ask advice from techno-savvy people on the list regarding an =
issue I am have with my recording gear. I use a Sony TCM-5000EV tape reco=
rder coupled with Sennheiser ME66/K6 microphone but find that my recording=
s are very 'hissy'. I am very careful with the sound levels and the batte=
ries are fresh. I have uploaded a recording I made this evening of duetti=
ng Common Loons to http://groups.yahoo.com/group/naturerecordists/files/ i=
n which one can clearly hear a strong hiss. Does anyone have any idea wha=
t is causing this? Do I need to clean the heads on my tape deck, if so h=
ow? I really like the unit and do not want to give up on it.

  Thanks,

  David Bradley,
  Kenora, Ontario.
