I don't even think it's appropriate to come up with such recommendations. What will be the perfect sound to one person may not be so for another. Experienced people know that these samples are just point samples out of a large variety of soundfields a mic might record. Unfortunately beginners don't know that. Point them at a sample and it will become god's word on what that mic setup sounds like. It's up to experienced people to provide the guidance to listen to a bunch of samples before choosing. That's so often what's missing when samples are presented. Walt |
