I am just about to invest in the Telinga Stereo Dat Mic set-up and before I take the giant leap, I wanted to make one last attempt to get any postive/negative feedback from any folks out there on the Telinga Stereo Dat Microphone as well as any advice on a recorder to match this set up. I am considering a compact flash recorder but I'm concerned about the cost. I am leaning towards a Sony HiMd recorder due to cost and weight considerations, but like most recordists I want to get a clean, high quality recording. Would I be making a sacrifice using a HiMD recorder? My interest is in recording individual bird vocalizations while getting some ambiance of surrounding sounds. Thank you for your time.
