Kyle,
Just go for it. You will not regret it.
Even thoiugh I am only an amateur recordist, I own several microphones, but=
most of my nature recordings are done with the Telinga stereo. It is a gre=
at tool.
As far as the recorder is concerned, there are countless possibilities, but=
keep an eye open for second hand HHB Portadiscs : they are now regularly a=
vailable on eBay for reasonable prices, and they too are great tools.

Objet : [Nature Recordists] Telinga Stereo Dat Mic/ recorder to match set-u=
p
I am just about to invest in the Telinga Stereo Dat Mic set-up and
before I take the giant leap, I wanted to make one last attempt to get
any postive/negative feedback from any folks out there on the Telinga
Stereo Dat Microphone as well as any advice on a recorder to match
this set up. I am considering a compact flash recorder but I'm
concerned about the cost. I am leaning towards a Sony HiMd recorder
due to cost and weight considerations, but like most recordists I want
to get a clean, high quality recording. Would I be making a sacrifice
using a HiMD recorder? My interest is in recording individual bird
vocalizations while getting some ambiance of surrounding sounds.
Thank you for your time.
