Hello All,

My current project, Spore, needs a mind boggling amount of animal sounds. =
I
am looking for both recommendations and recordings from members of the
group. There is something in this for you if you have what I need...

Our game is all about evolution. You start the game as a single cell
organism and win by
dominating the Universe as a super intellegent being in your Starship. Th=
e
20 hours of
game play in between is all about evolving your little bugger. And when I
say evolving...I mean literaly crafting your character with Play-Do like
fludity. Wanna put a shark jaw on a turtle body with 46 legs and eyes on
each of his knees...Ok.

Your turtle-shark, along with the bazillion other possible creature types,
will start off pretty dunb....eventually developing complex speech...which
is where you can help.

In your recordings, I am looking for:

1) Expressiveness - these creatures are striving to become intellegent and
can be sad, happy, angry, horney, hungry, etc.

2) Variety - our biggest challenge is finding recordings with a wide enough
range of emotion to cover a character

3) Resonably High Fidelity - close up recordings of single animals (or
multiples with breathing room)

"Alls I care about is a nice fat recording." -Harry Caul

Below is a list of stuff we've recorded or acquired that is working well fo=
r
us.

Black Bear, Macaw, Red Deer, Capuchins, Dolphin, Whale, Katydid, Dog, Boar,
Wild Cats, Baboon, Alligator, Elephant, Frogs, Tropical Birds, Bovine

I've uploaded a sample recording of the quality I am looking for:

20Examples/

What I don't need (at the moment):
Ambiences, One Trick Ponys, Sub Par or Distant Recordings, Voice
Actors...(unless they are really really really good)

What's in it for you? We've got budget, and we'll gladly pay Hollywood
Sound Recordist rates for your gems. After listening to your material, I'l=
l
make a determination of value based on quanity and quality and we'll go fro=
m
there...Any takers?

Of course you must own the rights of the sound in order to sell it. We are
not interested in sounds you do not own the copyrights to.

Also, If you have recommendations of animals or places to record, I would b=
e
most appreciative. If you have a personal contact...even better!

Please contact me off list if you feel you can help.

Thanks for reading this far...
