Hi Julius,

You might be interested to know that the latest generation of MD not only
has very quiet high gain preamps -- as documented by our own Rob Danielson
-- but also will record uncompressed 16/44 on 1 GB capacity disks. (Or you
can record 7+ hours/disk at MD compression).

The forthcoming MZ-RH1 HiMD from Sony that's being released shortly (e.g.
expected in the US in May) also fixes a lot of annoying quirks for field
recordists -- in fact it seems to have been designed for us -- and it allows
unlimited upload of recordings via USB, including old recordings from
original MD gear(!) and those made with the digital in. Check out
minidisc.org.

For my stealth recording projects I'm really looking forward to it!

best,
 aaron
