Thanks for the many and timely suggestions. I suspect Tim and Roger have
identified what was going on. I did have my cell phone in a breast pocket
while recording. And after Tim's memory jogger, I think I may have also
heard that sound at work, where I sometimes place my cell phone next to my
PC speakers. Rob, there are no transmision towers or electric lines in th=
e
area--so that is ruled out. Thanks for the suggestion about sending the
snippet to Sound Devices. I'll do that so they are aware--but if it is the
cell phones, I suspect they may not be able to design that 'feature' out.
Jim, my first reaction was also that it was a loose connection, but I could
not cause this to repeat (or stop it, when it was happening) by jiggling th=
e
cables. I'll report back if it turns out not to be the cell phone. Thanks
