Can anyone recommend software - preferably free - for recovering files from defective CDs? My computer was stolen last year. I had most of the stuff backed up but am now trying to recover a few cuts from analogue tapes which I digitalized and saved as WAV files on CD. In some cases Windows or Cool Edit 2000 reads most of the file but then stops and I lose even what it has already read.
