Bernie tried the 418S and as I recall essentially said it was in no
way a replacement for a x0/30 pair. The side channel is apparently
adequate for nonessential ambiance but is not nearly as
quiet/sensitive as a 30. A shame, I thought a pair of them pointed in
opposite directions would be a marvelously compact surround setup.

Fwiw Google Walter Knapp's mp3s of the 40/30 vs 60/30, you might like
one flavor more than the other.
