I assume you are having problems with files from both recorders. Assuming this to be true the problem is not likely with the recorders as it is unlikely both would go bad at the same time. Do the recordings sound good when you listen to them through the minidisk recorder using headphones? If they do then I would suspect a bad sound card or possibly a corrupted copy of cooledit. I have been using cool edit for many years with no problems but I have had to replace sound cards about 4 times. Good luck in solving the problem.
