At $1000 vs. $2400, that would be great news form many applications.
Did you get a sense of comparative gain? The TASCAM HD-P2 specs are
unclear, stating "Mic Input....max gain: 46.2 dB" which, if true,
would be disappointing for nature recording. One can turn both mic
pres to maximum with NT1A's/room tone and measure the resulting sound
file saturations. Rob D.
