I received the new TASCAM HD-P2 today. As far as I can tell, there are no audible differences in the self-noise levels of the mic pre's between the HD-P2 and the SD722 (I compared them both with a pair of Rode NT-1A and a dummy resistor network). My first impression is that the HD-P2 is a very well-designed and affordable recorder.
