Our Canadian government, as do I, oppose oil drilling in the ANWR.  Canadia=
n
officials in Washington are trying their best to stop this legislation.  If
it passes in the Senate the relations between our two countries will become
even more fragile than they are now.  I would hope that our two governments
would focus time, energy and resources on finding alternative methods other
than the use of oil and gas.

All the best in this fight for the preservation of this Refuge.

Yes, until now Gordon Smith was one republican senator actually
against opening ANWR for drilling. On the news this morning they
suggested he's considering changing his stance.
