Hi Jeremy,


Cool Edit 2000 is such a wonderful hassle free program.


The layout on Audition is easy to use, although unless you are mixing
multiple channels it is hardly worth the added cost.


You can mix multiple channels with free software such as Audacity and do the
bulk of your work within CE 2000.


I am in S. Korea presently and am away from the computer that houses my
version of CE 2000. I miss it so much. It was the workhorse of my projects.


I like the simplicity of it, as in it doesn't try to do too much for you,
that you never asked it to do. I hate when programs do all kinds of
housekeeping with my files and then who do I ask? My wife?  ;^)


So I say if you are happy with CE 2000 keep on using it.
