Handling noise

I also use a homemade mount and handle =96 a design pieced from ideas
from several list members. I did not make my own dish, since a
Telinga dish was easily affordable. To help reduce handling noise, I
use a four-foot extension on my handle: It rests on the ground like a
monopod, taking most of the weight off your hand. It works great once
you've picked your angle and keep it, but even slight changes in angle
are usually audible. And of course there are trade-offs in size and
weight.

Thank You John
That's a good idea, I could easily attach my handle to an extension and
not having to support the weight would make it easier to hold. I have
to admit using PVC parts made it a bit heavier than I really wanted but
I needed the versatility. Mark
