FYI, that page badly out of date. Soon after posting it in May, I
realized that the wedge/boundary array at the bottom of the page was
giving me too much bass response, and the stereo image was too narrow.
It launched me on a whole new round of tinkering that lasted through
summer, all the way to last week. I experimented with several different
approaches, but came back to the wooden wedge concept -- this time in a
smaller, lighter package that corrects the stereo image and bass
response problems, and also is less prone to handling noise. Now I need
to come up with a different scheme for wind protection. If anyone is
interested, I'll gladly share some photos and sound clips when I get
them together.
