Granted, some people don't follow them (like anything else), but most of
the birders I know have their own stricter ethics regarding the use of song=
to attract a bird--usually not during breeding/nesting seasons, and if song=
is used as a last resort, letting the bird have "the last word".
As far as predators are concerned, some animals, including raptors, will
use any disturbance made by a human (a jogger or dog-walker in a park, for=
example) and follow their wake to catch prey that is occupied with the
human disturbance.
