Don't count the Microtrack out so quickly. No digital
recorder released in the past year ["pro" or "amateur"]
had all functions working properly at first.

Over on Taperssection.com, a Microtrack dealer has been
corresponding with M-Audio about bugs and problems. A
message dated 25 Sept 2005 contained this information:

"BUGS reported to M-Audio:
-no 24bit S/PDIF=20=20
- M/L/H switch is reversed=20=20
- annoying glitch/pop in headphones when saving recordings,
and sometimes also when beginning recordings

ANSWER from M-Audio:
All three of these items =96 along with a bunch of other things
not mentioned =96 are fixed in firmware v1.5, which will probably
be out tomorrow."

Let's wait a couple of weeks to see how well the new firmware
addresses the issues raised by the first Microtrack customers.
