I heard that AEA will have a MS monitoring solution at the NY AES
convention.  I am not sure how fast you will see actual production units,
however.

They used to make a headphone MS decoder...the MS38 Lite, which is out of
production, but can be found used.

Also, for anyone with a Grace V3 pre/DA unit...these can be modified to sen=
d
discrete MS through the Digital outs, and decoded MS through the analog out=

for about $50. and shipping.

True it's not "cheap", but this was in a thread talking about an MS
setup with MKH30/40's.  Anyone who is spending $2000+ on a pair of
mics could probably swing $350 for a portable 2 channel mic pre with
MS monitoring.

As far as truly affordable MS monitoring rigs?  I don't know of any.
I'm sure you could do one pretty cheap if you DIY.
