Hi John-
That's correct. A stereo, unbalanced 2-xlr female-> 3.5mm stereo
"mini" plug adapter cable is what you want.

If you're soldering one up yourself:

XLR Left
1 ->3-> mini plug shield
2-> 1/8" miniplug tip

XLR Right
1 ->3-> mini plug shield
2-> 1/8" miniplug ring
