I'll withhold judgment on the mike pres and A/D of the M-Audio MicroTrack u= ntil I can hear them. But the form factor of the unit is very appealing, b= ased on the one picture currently available. And battery life can be more t= han doubled (to 8 from 3 hours) by using an outboard 48v power supply. Core Sound is accepting preorders for under $380 including ground shipping.= Scuttlebutt seems to indicate late August first shipments. Many questions await the release of the unit, including whether it can be p= owered from external source while recording or whether it only recharges fr= om external power. also, can the PIP on the TRS mini input be defeated?
