Pelican Case
I have been meaning to tell everyone about my new equipment case which I us=
ed on a two month feild trip overseas recently. I have upgraded to a Pelica=
n 1510 Case . Its a little smaller than its predecessor but retains the har=
d plastic exterior, foam rubber padding and total resistance to water. Howe=
ver , I have never dared test the latter feature. In addition, it has an ex=
tendable handle and wheels for airports etc. It's advertised as Airline Car=
ry -On luggage to fit in the overhead bins . It would just take two Marantz=
PMD 650's, a Telinga Microphone, earphones and a few batteries. We travell=
ed by charter (Zoom Airlines) to Scotland and many rugged roads and ferry t=
rips for two months. I stored both recorders in the case for the whole trip=
and had no problems. The weather was not as accomodating.
The case provided perfect protection throughout the trip and I would highly=
recommend them .The one small drawback for me was at the ticket counter. I=
was told that Charter Airline bins are a little smaller than ordinary Airl=
ine facilities. So my Pelican went in with the rest of the luggage but I wa=
sn't charged for the extra weight in either direction. I got mine from www.=
