<<<<<Although I recorded about 20 minutes of the owl, I was dismayed to

Couldn't you just throw up when that happens!!
Last month in Big Bend I took sound readings of around 20-25db and feeling
very optimistic, I set out on a 6 miles walk up the Chisos Mountains in
search of the Colima Warbler, about 4 miles into the hike, I heard the firs=
t
Colima, feeling great about the general quietness, I dived into my gear to
set it all up and BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRMMMMMMMMMMPPPPHHHHHH A bloody motorbike
convoy came shooting through the desert about 10 miles away and echoed like
a jack hammer, of course when the bird stopped vocalizing it went back to
the calmness again..... I could have taken out a bazooka (ooopps) I mean I
said to myself oh heck, what a shame :)
E-mail me privately for the real response :)

We stayed at Murderers Creek Work Center - the owl was about half a
mile up stream. I can get you the coordinates if you want them.
Here is the URL for the cabin reservations and directions.
