Nature Sounds Society invites you to its 21st Annual Field Workshop,
to be held at beautiful Yuba Pass.
This year's field workshop will be a relatively leisurely weekend at
Yuba Pass, focused on field recording and networking about techniques
and experiences. We're calling it our "do-it-yourself" workshop, a
change a venue from the more structured lecture based workshops we've
had in the past. We will be having the first annual NSS Film and
Listening Fest, showing short films by individuals interested in or
focused on the topics of nature sounds. Morning (and evening) field
recording sorties, demonstrations of new equipment for the field, a
microphone directivity workshop, observer logging training for work
with the National Park Service on their soundscape management plan
development and a make-your-own-windscreen craft workshop will be part
of the venue. Our fees this year are less, $125 for members, $150 for
non-members (includes a year's membership with NSS).
The snowmelt is late this year so we will have the opportunity to
observe bird and other wildlife a little earlier in 'spring' than we
have in the past.
Please contact or call (510) 238-7482 to
request an application form and reserve your place! We look forward
to seeing you there!
